General Questions

1. Do you build standard sizes or custom only?

Both.

We build standard and custom sizes to the millimetre.

For example, our standard 1200mm wall-hung vanity is 500mm wide (front to back) and 450mm high (from the bottom of the vanity to the top of the vanity top).

If you need a vanity that is 1170mm long x 440mm wide x 400mm high — we can build it.

2. Do you have a showroom?

We have a workshop located in Currumbin Waters on the Gold Coast.

If you’d like to view samples or some of our vanities in person, please contact us to arrange a suitable time to visit.

We’d love to meet you and discuss your vanity ideas.

3. Do you offer free samples?

Yes, we offer free timber samples.

Please contact us to arrange them.

For laminate samples, you can order directly from Laminex and Polytec’s websites.

Laminex offers up to 9 free samples per order, and Polytec offers up to 5.

4. Do you offer installation?

No, we are a supply-only business.

Installation would need to be arranged separately.

Any licensed builder or carpenter should be able to assist you.

5. What's your lead time?

Lead times vary depending on the vanity design and finish.

For ready-to-buy designs in our online store, the current estimated lead time is listed on each product page.

For custom orders arranged via email, once we receive your enquiry and learn more about the design(s) you’re looking for, we'll advise the estimated lead time for your order.

As a general guide only:

  • Solid Timber: 8 weeks
  • Timber Veneer: 5-7 weeks
  • Laminate: 4-6 weeks (depending on the design)
  • 2 Pac: 5-8 weeks (depending on the design)

6. What are your payment terms?

Timber Vanities (Solid Timber or Veneer): A 50% deposit is required to confirm your order. The remaining 50% is due upon completion and prior to collection or dispatch.

Laminate and 2 Pac Vanities: Payment is required in full at the time of ordering.

7. How do I pay for the order?

For orders placed via email, we’ll issue an invoice. You can pay by direct deposit (electronic bank transfer) or online card payment.

Orders placed through our website can be paid using any available checkout method, including debit or credit card, Google Pay, and Afterpay (if eligible).

8. Do you have any vanities available now?

We are primarily a custom, made-to-order business, but we may have a small number of in-stock vanities available from time to time.

View our In-Stock page for more information or contact us to check availability.

9. My build has been delayed. Can you store my vanities?

Due to space limitations, we cannot store completed vanities.

Vanities will need to be dispatched or collected within 72 hours of order completion.

Please expect to receive your order within the estimated lead time.

10. What should I use to clean my vanity?

Important: When cleaning your product, including vanities or mirrored cabinets, we recommend using a clean microfibre cloth with warm water and a pH-neutral soap only. Be sure to dry off any excess moisture afterward

Never use abrasive materials such as scourers or harsh chemical cleaners containing bleach, acidic substances, alcohol, solvents, or ammonia, as these can damage the timber coating, stone, laminate, or mirror over time.

You may also wish to use cleaning products that have been specially formulated for this purpose, including:

While our timber tops have been coated with clear resin and hard wax oils for enhanced protection and durability, it is important to always wipe up any spills and avoid leaving water or other bathroom products to sit and pool for prolonged periods of time.

Water or other liquids left on any treated timber for extended periods may cause damage.

Custom Quotes

1. How do I get a quote?

It's easy. Just fill out the contact form on our website and we'll get back to you within 1-2 business days.

Click here to open the Contact page.

2. I don't have my exact measurements yet. Can you give me an estimate?

Yes, if you're in the early stages of planning, we can use your rough dimensions for the estimate and refine the details as needed.

3. The vanities in your online store are 1500mm long. I need 1450mm. Can you do that?

Yes, we’re custom builders and can build to whatever size you need, down to the millimetre.

When quoting, we use Length (L) × Width (W) × Height (H).

For example, if our standard size is 1500mm L × 500mm W × 450mm H

But you need 1450mm L × 460mm W × 500mm H

✔ We can do it.

Please use the contact form on our website to request a custom quote.

(Please do not purchase a 1500mm vanity through our store and then request size changes).

4. Do you build floor-mounted vanities or just wall-hung?

We build all types of vanities, including:

  • Wall-hung (floating)
  • Floor-mounted
  • Freestanding (on legs)

Please contact us to share your vanity ideas with us. We'd likely be able to help.

5. I like one of the vanities on your website, but I can’t find it in your online store. How much is it?

Please send us a message with a screenshot of the vanity you’re interested in and the length you need, and we’ll send you an estimate.

You can reach us using the Contact page on our website.

Delivery

1. How will I receive my vanity?

We’re based on the Gold Coast and deliver Australia wide.

Your delivery method will depend on your location:

  • South East QLD & Northern NSW: Delivered by local couriers.
  • Other regions: Delivered by trusted third-party couriers or freight carriers, such as TNT.

We’ll communicate the applicable delivery method to you.

2. Can I collect my order from your Gold Coast workshop?

Yes, you're welcome to arrange a collection.

Collections are available on weekdays or Saturday mornings, by appointment.

3. I can’t see my address at checkout. Can you deliver to my address?

Most likely, yes.

If your address doesn’t appear at checkout, please contact us so we can discuss your delivery options.

4. Which delivery options do you offer?

Depending on your location, we may be able to deliver to:

  • Your home
  • Your nearest freight depot
  • Your business address (if applicable), or
  • All of the above
5. Do you offer free shipping?

We do our best to keep our pricing fair while continuing to offer high-quality, custom-made vanities.

To make this sustainable, third-party delivery fees are charged at cost.

Rather than inflating our product prices to advertise “free shipping,” we provide transparent pricing: the cost of your vanity and the cost of delivery are quoted separately.

If the residential delivery fee at checkout seems higher than expected, please contact us to discuss your options. We do not profit from third-party delivery charges, and we’ll always do our best to find you a better rate where possible.

Depot collection and business-to-business deliveries are typically more affordable than home deliveries and may reduce your delivery costs.

If either of these options works for you, please let us know.

You're also welcome to arrange your own pickup and delivery, if you prefer.

6. How long will it take to receive my vanity?

Vanity Construction Lead Time

  • For online store orders, estimate lead times are displayed on each product page.
  • For orders placed via email, lead times are confirmed in writing and on your invoice.

Lead times refer to production only and do not include delivery timeframes.

·

Delivery Timeframes

  • Delivery times vary based on your location and the size of your order.
  • Estimated delivery timeframe: 2–10 business days.
7. How will I know which day my order is being delivered?

Depending on your location, you’ll either be contacted by us to arrange a delivery day and time window, or a third-party freight provider may contact you directly.

8. What do I need to do on the day of delivery?

You, or someone you nominate, will need to be home or on site to receive the order on the scheduled delivery date.

Upon delivery, please check that all items listed on your invoice are present.

If there are any missing or extra items, please notify the driver immediately.

Please note: Due to their own safety policies, third-party delivery drivers will deliver your order to the ground floor only, to a location that is safe, flat, and accessible using their mechanical lift aid (e.g. driveway, carport, garage, or front entrance).

Please be mindful that:

  • Delivery drivers are not removalists
  • They cannot carry items upstairs or inside your home or construction site

You’ll need to arrange adequate assistance to safely move your vanity.

All of our vanities require two or more people to lift and carry safely.

9. How can I contact you if there's a problem with my order?

To report a problem with your order, please contact us using one of the methods below:

·

Damaged Packaging

We take great care to package all products securely and protect them throughout palletised transport.

In the rare event that damage occurs during transit, please ensure you follow the steps below so we can address the matter as quickly as possible.

·

If the packaging of your product appears damaged, please take clear photographs or videos of the damage before unboxing.

Continue unboxing and check the product carefully for any further issues.

If the product is damaged, email info@customvanity.com.au with the photos or videos attached so we can assist you.

·

Important: We understand that if your build or renovation is ongoing, you may want to leave the vanity in its packaging to protect it until installation.

·

However, it’s important to open and inspect it upon receipt because:

  1. Due to the nature of new builds and renovations, once time has passed, it can be difficult to determine whether damage occurred during transit or on site after delivery.

For this reason, we cannot accept claims for damages after the 24 hour period has passed or the product has been installed.

  2. Discovering an issue that requires repair or replacement just before installation is likely to cause delays to your project.

·

We’re here to help. If anything isn’t right, just contact our team and we’ll support you through the next steps as quickly as we can.

11. Missed Deliveries

Please ensure someone is available to receive your order on the scheduled delivery date.

If delivery is attempted and no one is available, the third-party provider may charge a re-delivery fee at their discretion.

This fee is separate from us and you will be liable for these costs.

Timber Vanities

1. Do you use solid timber or veneer?

We offer both.

Solid Timber

We use sustainably grown Australian native hardwoods, including:

  • Blackbutt
  • Spotted Gum
  • Tasmanian Oak

We also stock American Oak.

Our standard thickness is 20mm, with 40mm available in some species upon request.

If you’re after a particular species not listed above, please let us know and we’ll see if we can accommodate your request.

·

Timber Veneer

We can also build your vanity from a range of timber veneers, including but not limited to:

  • Walnut
  • European Oak
  • Blackbutt
  • Tasmanian Oak
  • Spotted Gum
  • American Oak
  • New Guinea Rose
  • Others upon request
2. What is 'timber veneer'?

Veneer is a thin layer of real timber that is applied to a solid backing, such as moisture-resistant particleboard or MDF.

It gives you the look and feel of natural timber, without being made from solid wood all the way through.

3. What's the internal cabinetry made of?

All of our vanities are built with 16mm high moisture-resistant particleboard internals.

The standard internal colour is white, with other colours available upon request, including black and grey.

4. Which brand of drawers do you use?

We use Blum drawers with full extension and soft-close features.

Your choice of pull or push-to-open mechanisms.

5. What is the benchtop made of?

Your choice of timber or stone.

The standard stone we use is solid 20mm mineral stone, which is crystalline silica-free, from leading brands such as Caesarstone, Quantum Zero, and YDL.

If you have a particular stone in mind (natural or engineered), we can try to source it for you.

You can upgrade the stone thickness to any custom size you’d like, including 40mm, 60mm, 80mm, 100mm, or 150mm.

If you’d like to use your own stone, we can supply the vanity without a top.

6. Can I use my own stone top?

Yes, if you'd like to pair our vanity with your own stone or another top purchased separately, we can supply the vanity without a top.

7. Are timber tops suitable for bathrooms?

All of our timber vanity tops are protected with durable finishes, such as Hard Wax Oil, clear 2 Pac, and resin.

However, timber vanities should always be treated as natural materials, and water or other liquids should not be left to sit or pool for prolonged periods.

Prolonged exposure to water on any treated timber may cause damage over time.

Laminate Vanities

1. What does 'timber-look laminate' mean?

Our timber vanities are handcrafted using your choice of solid timber or timber veneer.

Our timber-look (woodgrain laminate) vanities are built using high-quality laminate from leading brands such as Laminex and Polytec.

Woodgrain laminate is an engineered material designed to look like real timber.

It’s a decorative, printed finish applied to a solid backing, such as moisture-resistant particleboard or MDF.

2. I want one of your vanities in a different laminate colour. Is that possible?

Yes, you can choose any laminate colour from Laminex or Polytec.

(Click the links above to view their full ranges).

Both brands offer a wide range of laminate options, including:

  • Woodgrains
  • Accent colours
  • Whites & neutrals

If you’d like a colour that isn’t listed on the product page, please contact us directly to place an order and we’ll send you an invoice.

You can reach us via the contact page on our website.

Please do not pay for your order through the website and then request colour changes afterward.

3. Can you colour-match other areas of my home?

Yes, if you have Laminex or Polytec in other areas of your home, we can build a vanity to match.

4. Which brand of drawers do you use?

We use Blum drawers with full extension and soft-close features.

Your choice of pull or push-to-open mechanisms.

5. What is the benchtop made of?

We only supply our laminate vanities with stone tops.

Basins & Tapware

1. Do you supply basins?

We don’t; however, you can source any basin you like separately, and we will create cut-outs in the stone top (if applicable) and cabinetry to suit your chosen basin.

We can create allowances for the following basin types:

  • Above-mount
  • Semi-inset, or
  • Undermount
2. Can I use a semi-inset or undermount basin with your vanities?

Yes, you can; however, this needs to be arranged with us directly.

The vanities available for purchase in our online store come with cut-outs for above-mount basins only.

We can also create cut-outs for semi-inset or undermount basins; however, these options require different design considerations.

If you would like to use either a semi-inset or undermount basin, please contact us directly to place an order.

*** Please only purchase a vanity from our online store if you will be using an above-mount basin. ***

3. Can you create cut-outs in the stone for bench-mounted taps or mixers?

Yes, we can.

Please contact us directly for a quote or to place an order.

4. Do you offer any integrated basin tops?

Yes, we offer integrated basins that are crafted directly into the stone top.

Please contact us for more information.
